| Software Engineer Intern, Summer |
| Job Type: Internship Location: San Francisco, CA |
| Responsibilities • Reliability: Ensure Square works right, every time, by using testing, continuous integration, and in-depth code reviews. • Security: Create interactions and APIs that reinforce trust, increase security, and make it harder to do the wrong thing. • Analytics: Collect all the data around every transaction and turn it into tools that help our users. • Products: Envision entire new products, features, and flows that are inspired, considered, and magical. • Fraud Prevention: Make quick decisions on millions of dollars which requires sound judgement, thorough diligence and passion for detecting bad actors and preventing loss. Qualifications • Pursuing degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or related technical field, graduating between December 2020 and Dec 2022. Recent bootcamp graduates and engineering training participants are also considered upon completion of program requirements. • Square Internships are 12-weeks and co-op placements are 16 weeks. • Programming experience in one or more object-oriented languages, including: C, C++, Objective-C, Java, Ruby, Scala, Go, and/or Python. |

| Responsibilities • Explore approaches to complex technical problems • Work closely with a mentor and team of peers • Create high quality code to be used in our robots and other products • Conceive and implement solutions to complex interaction, messaging and architectural problems • Document work completed, and present complex technical topics to a diverse audience Qualifications • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Machine Learning, or a related discipline • Some experience in one or more of the following areas: – Robotics – Control systems – Machine vision – Machine learning – Data analytics – Backend web development • Experience developing in Linux • Experience with C++ and/or Python • Proficient at writing maintainable and readable code • Must be a self-starter with can-do attitude, comfortable and demonstrating flexibility in working in a fast-paced, innovative environment |

| Responsibilities • Works closely with customers, business analysts and senior-level developers to code, test, deploy and support Application Software. • The technical solutions must be cost effective and aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with Lynden’s architectural standards. • Open to continuous learning. • Helps provide training and post installation support for customers, coworkers and other IT support personnel. • Participates in 24×7 on call rotation. • Ability to triage and manage concurrent tasks and projects, set priorities and follow through to successful completion. • Reliability and timeliness are essential functions of this position. • Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Required skills include the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and effectively present information. • Exposure to applications development and programming experience in a business environment is helpful. Familiarity with project management processes is a plus. |
