Data Analytics Intern
Job Type: Internship
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Responsibilities
• Perform analyses and build reports using Looker/Tableau and other reporting tools that will drive business outcomes to support our dynamic Marketing Department 
• Conduct ad-hoc analytics requests using the internal data warehouse in Redshift, Microsoft Excel, and Looker 
• Define reporting requirements in partnership with various teams and translate that into technical specifications to build a comprehensive analytics solution
• Prep data for analytics using SQL, Python, and/or R
• Partner cross-functionally with our data engineering and technical teams to ensure that our data is accurate in our databases for reporting and analysis
• Act as a trusted advisor and provide solid recommendations to business partners based on data insights
• Work with the data team on larger analytics projects from start to finish
• Build out data documentation

Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PHD degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative field
• 2+ years of internship or work experience in a related analytical role
• Ability to leverage advanced SQL queries to surface data from source systems and build reports 
• Working knowledge of data visualization using
• Tableau/Looker or any visualization tools
• Experience working with web analytics, marketing, and e-commerce data
• Advanced skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and charting
• Experience working with Python, R and similar tools for data analysis a strong plus

Data Analyst Intern
Job Type: Internship
Location: Boston, MA
Responsibilities
• Be able to show proficiency in utilizing data analysis tools and data sets to create a gold standard deliverable.
• Crossmatch and verify the mapping of data sets related to power systems. For example datasets such as power buses, substations, branches to geography, outage, congestion, and other available information
• Work on the development of new tools and processes that will enhance the combination of disparate data sets.
• Identify and pursue potential performance, reliability, and process improvements.
• Work with analysts on the North American Power team to understand the usage of this data and the importance of accurate metadata.
• Gain valuable experience and exposure with the current growth within business of Web-based applications or SAAS (Software As A Service) products

Qualifications
• You have or are working towards a Bachelors’s degree that requires analyzing, processing and integrating disparate data.
• You have experience with SQL, PLSQL, Python, Image Processing, Google Earth
• You are familiar with source control systems like Subversion, Git, etc.
• You are detailed oriented
• You have a strong desire to learn new technologies fast 
• You possess excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
• You like flexibility, can deal with ambiguity and like to work on multiple projects
• You can work in a dispersed team environment

Data Analyst
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities
•  Review and validate customer data requirements and large datasets from multiple data sources to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformity
•  Follow established data management procedures and ensure timely completion of all steps
•  Map disparate data to standardized values using a structured taxonomy
•  Validate automated mappings for accuracy and revise mappings as needed
•  Create and maintain client-specific data dictionaries
•  Map Brightfield’s standard data fields to client-specific data fields
•  Audit inbound and outbound data for conformity to documented requirements
•  Troubleshoot data issues and work with clients to identify root causes and solutions
•  Support TDX implementation projects as data management lead
•  Provide status reports, audit summaries, and results of analysis
•  Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
•  Answer key questions from stakeholders
•  Aggregate and summarize data to create executive reports and dashboards with rich interactive visualizations
•  Identify opportunities to automate steps and data validation techniques
•  Support Brightfield’s Advisory team by analyzing job title taxonomies and associated rates
•  Participate in reviewing data analysis with clients

Qualifications
• Must have at least two years of practical work experience in a similar role
• Highly proficient with Excel is critical (i.e., pivots, vlookups, etc.)
• Ability to manage multiple projects with various priorities and deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, driven, independent
• Strong communication skills
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline preferred
• Understanding of relational data models and database structure
• Data management experience
• Interest in and ability to learn new technical skills quickly
• Experience with SQL a plus
• Tableau experience a plus
• Programming ability is a plus
• Willing to travel to visit customers on-site
